We first met Anna during a 15-minute free consultation at the Toronto Home Show, looking for guidance on how to tackle a kitchen renovation project that got fast-tracked unexpectedly. During the duration of our session, Anna provided an array of ideas and possibilities and made the sound of the renovation exciting. We invited Anna to our home for a consultation for a design plan and that is when she became family. She took the time to understand our family needs, our routines, whom and how often they cooked, and what our vision was. We retained her services as our designer and project manager and could not be happier with the quality of service she provided. Anna took the worry out of the renovation, she accompanied us to stores we had no idea existed and navigated us through the many decisions and purchases that were necessary. When it came time to renovate our kitchen, we interviewed many design firms but found most if not all were; 1. to set in their predisposed thoughts and concepts as to how a kitchen was to look. and 2. Could not envision our needs for design, functionality, presentation and entertainment value. That changed when we decided to visit the Interior Design Show in Toronto specifically to find a kitchen design group. Many of the groups represented we had either met, knew of, or were not interested in meeting until we encounter Anastasia Rentzos at the Andros Kitchen and Bath Design booth. Their modern and innovative presentation as well as their out of the box thinking fit well with our initial thoughts as to what a kitchen should be. Later that week we promptly reached out to Anastasia to book an appointment to discuss our thoughts and review their capabilities. We were amazed at the Andros way of looking at a space and although some of their ideas did not perfectly mesh with ours, we were able to see the merits of those ideas through their concise rationale provided as they could see the merits of our wishes. After a couple of meetings and potential design options we signed for them to complete our vision of what a kitchen meant to us. This was not to say that we didn’t have discussions that did not always match but they were always flexible in; design elements, where to put a microwave, colour palate, none of the standard cabinet colours met our need so they customized for us, mix and location of dark and light transitions in floor, wall and countertop were not typical and as such required specific sourcing of materials, which Anastasia arranged options for review and consideration. When it came to construction, Anastasia handled all the details and managed the process with a hands-on style that kept the destruction, construction and installation on schedule. Even when hidden or unforeseen curveballs were sent our way. You never know when electrical or vent pipes are somewhere not expected. When specialized installation was required, she found the right person for the task. In the end we did get our dream of what a kitchen should be. And apparently what others saw as a dream kitchen too. Anastasia asked if we would be ok with entering our new kitchen in a design competition specific for kitchens and baths, which we eagerly agreed to. To our surprise, but not our hope, our kitchen won first place in the NKBA North American design competition awarded in Las Vegas, Nevada. In fact, not only did our kitchen win but was on the cover of Kitchen & Bath design news for the edition focusing on the finalist for that NKBA competition. When it came time to renovate our Master Ensuite Bathroom, we thought of nobody to design and work with than Anastasia Retzos and her team at Andros Kitchen and Bath Design. Again, their process, commitment to our vision and attention to detail did not disappoint. Our ensuite bathroom surpassed our initial vision by a long shot. Again, Anastasia requested to enter our newest project into the NKBA design competition, where unfortunately we did not win, but were finalist again garnering second place for our and Anastasia’s vision. Although no renovation plans are in our future, we would certainly not hesitate to recommend Anastasia Rentzos for Kitchen and Bath design and renovations.
